Executive Commissioner for the Commemorations of the 50th anniversary of 25 April
Bachelor’s degree in History (1990), Master’s degree in History of the 19th and 20th Centuries (1995) and PhD in Institutional History and Contemporary Politics (2004) from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities of NOVA University, Lisbon. Appointed Executive Commissioner of the Mission Structure of the Celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Revolution of 25th April 1974, in April 2022. Teaches at the School of Communication and Media Studies of the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute (since 1997), where she coordinated the Humanities section and the editorial board of the journal Public Communication.
Maria Inácia Rezola has coordinated the “Comparative Political History – Regimes, Transitions, Colonialism, and Memory” (2016-2019) and «Revolution and Democracy» (2008-2012) research groups of the Institute of Contemporary History of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities of NOVA University Lisbon. Her research has been funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) since 1995. She has served as member of the board of FCT from 2005 to 2011 and from 2016 to 2021.
Author, among other others, of Os Militares na Revolução de Abril.
